Dearest Patu Ndango Can Be Your Own African Shero!

Believe you me, I love the sound of her name… PATU… It sounds like music to my lips. Let’s know more about this outstanding lady.

Tell us about yourself
I am called Patu Ndango Fen. I’m a young Cameroonian based in Yaounde. I am a social entrepreneur and a student, rounding up with my masters program at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon. I am passionate about the environment and community service as well.

If there is one thing I don’t know how to do, it is to DANCE.

Who is your favorite/inspiring African Shero?

My favorite African Shero is Isabelle Dos Santos. She is the eldest daughter of the Angolan president and the richest African woman according to Forbes magazine. She is an iron lady heading several companies among which is an oil company called Sonangol. Her achievements as an African woman inspires me a lot.

What do you do and why what you do is so important in the society?

I have set up an eco business called Closed-Loop System Ventures (CLSV) which deals with the collection of organic waste from various sources and its transformation into organic fertilizer.

The excessive and abusive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is a major concern in Africa and Cameroon in particular due to the environmental, health and other negative impacts attached to it. We are therefore providing and promoting the use of organic fertilizer which is environmentally friendly, produces healthy and quality products (premium products), lasts longer in the soils and equally serves as an effective way of sequestrating carbon in the soils thus contributing the fight against climate change. It is important to promote organic farming because it is a means of promoting healthier lifestyles and saving the environment while at the same time improving crop yield.

What would you like to be written on your tomb?

Funny enough I have never thought of that. Thinking of it now I would say “she led by example.”

What does YALI mean to you?
YALI to me is an avenue for life time connections and networking with great leaders in various domains. Apart from the wonderful networking opportunity that it provides, it is equally an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary for the personal development present and future leaders and also for the development of our respective countries and Africa as a whole.

Patu Ndango

At the end of this program, I know I will be going back with a renewed fighting spirit and greater zeal to achieve set objectives.
