Title: For The Night is full of Dark and Horror

For the night is full of dark and horror, I believe man not anymore! The saint has turned to an evil, some pastors leading people astray and the honest man is seen happily swimming in the pool of corruption. So tell me, what could make bloody brothers hate each other if the night had not been full of dark and horror? People are backbiting, others are retarding the progress of their fellows spiritually, the very people who wish for your success are the same people to envy you when you succeed all because the night is full of dark and horror!

I vividly remember the day I was to move to the boarding house during high school time. My mother called me and said:

“Dear Halid, I wouldn’t be with you for some time. Henceforth, every decision you take is out of your choice. I know you are a good boy but for the night is full of dark and horror, kindly do me a favor and listen to me well. For the night is full of dark and horror, people will come to you with smiles on their faces and on their lips, be praised but don’t be moved by any. For the night is full of dark and horror, be careful about when, where and whom advice would be sought from. For the night is full of dark and horror, some people will sit and dine with you but will still want to kill you. You might do good to others but would be paid with wickedness! Most importantly, I’m not afraid for the night being dark and horrifying but I’m afraid who earns your trust. Trust kills! Dear son, lose not attention here, for I have been a victim before! I trusted many people and this is where it ended me. When you trust much, you can easily be deceived. As it stands now, I trust not even my own family. Not even you as a son. Situation changes people so be careful who earns your trust! I rest my case”. That was the end of her words.

That was the end of her words.
Indeed, her words were true. I have heard and I have seen the story of many. It is true the elders say ‘the enemy does not come with a sword but with smile’. The lives of many have become miserable with just a smile. The down fall of many was as a result of being moved by praises. Others too had been led astray because they sought advice from the wrong persons. I did not understand the phrase ‘trust kills’ until I saw people lose their lives for trusting others. It’s good to believe your fellow man but do so with caution. Man can be trusted but be on the look out! For the night is full of dark and horror!

It’s good to believe your fellow man but do so with caution. Man can be trusted but be on the lookout! For the night is full of dark and horror!

Peace!
